PREPARE for an evening of satirical soliloquy and rock-n-roll reverie as BBC6 Music resident poet Murray Lachlan Young presents his stunning new live up close and personal show.
Murray’s shows are a delightful romp into the bizarre facets of fame, fashion, people and politics. Prepare for a mild erotic folk ballad and the space-time continuum.
This is unique stand up poetry/spoken word performance, from one of the very best in the business, heading to Bridport Arts Centre on October 21.
Murray will be performing material from his new collection: How Freakin’ Zeitgeist Are You? along with much loved live favourites from BBC Radio.
Murray said: “In peoples minds, Bridport fits neatly into that group of towns known as the muesli underground. I like Bridport.
“Occasionally, when visiting, I have to listen to AC/DC quite loud as an antidote but I’m OK with that and I know Bridport is too.”
Murray is an acclaimed playwright, actor, screen-writer and poet-extraordinaire. Celebrated for his hybrid mix of stand-up comedy with commentaries on the bizarreness of contemporary life, expect flamboyant, punchy wit and empathetic humour.
