COASTGUARD teams rescued a dog that had fallen over a cliff yesterday evening.

Teams from Lyme Regis Coastguard and a backup team from West Bay attended the incident at Stonebarrow cliffs, near Charmouth, shortly after 5pm.

On arrival, a rope rescue system was set up to retrieve the Red Setter dog who was waiting on a ledge.

An officer was lowered down to the dog who put it in an animal rescue bag to take back up the cliff.

The dog was reunited with its owner shortly afterwards and was uninjured in the incident.
