THE A35 has now re-opened after a tree fell onto a vehicle in west Dorset.

The road was blocked between Bridport and Winterbourne Abbas as emergency services deal with the incident.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “A fallen tree is blocking the A35 about a mile west of Winterbourne Abbas.

“The local authority has been advised and the highways authority is dealing with the fallen tree. 

“The tree has fallen onto one vehicle, but no-one is injured. Police are currently at the scene, assisting with the incident.”

The X51 bus service between Dorchester and Bridport was being diverted along the coast road.
