IT'S the second bank holiday of May this weekend so here's hoping for some better weather than the last one.

There's plenty to keep you amused, including pirate fun, live music and local fare on sale.

*GET set for live music and entertainment in Hope Square and Trinity Road, Weymouth, with Fayre in the Square.

Taking place tomorrow and Bank Holiday Monday, 10am to 6pm both days, the two day event is organised by Weymouth Rotary Club.

The live music includes performances from Blazin' Strings, the Leggomen, and Danny Adams.

*SHIVER me timbers with Pirates Day at Fisherman's Green, West Bay, on Sunday from 12pm to 4pm.

There will be fun for all the family, games, splat the rat, walk the plank and much more.

*FIND out what living things are hiding beneath the water in our ponds during half term at a pond dipping event at Bennetts Water Gardens in Chickerell.

Also learn about the fascinating lifecycle of dragonflies in an interactive display in the museum.

Pond dipping begins on Monday and runs until June 3. The guided pond dipping is at 11am and 2pm.

*THERE'S a big day at Sherborne Castle on Monday with a Country Fair, Retriever Event and Rare Breeds Show.

Taking place from 10am to 6pm, there will be Dog Shows and Agility Dog displays, Dragon Boat Racing, arena displays, heavy horses and something to suit everyone.

There are many trade and boutique style stands to visit, including a crafts courtyard and a food hall featuring local gourmet products.

*A GIANT Craft Fair will take over Weymouth Pavilion on Monday from 10am to 4pm.

It will feature a wide variety of handmade goods from local crafters. Entry into the event is free.

Visitors will be able to browse 50 stalls and buy crafts displayed. Support your local artists, designers and crafts people by buying something unique and handmade.

*HAVE a browse at another Wessex Craft and Local Producers Market at Brownsword Hall, Poundbury, from 10.30am to 4pm.

This event will be showcasing food and craft artisans in the area. This ranges from rare breed products, homemade jams and chutneys, artists, jewellery, hand knitted items and more.

Profits from this event will be going to Hangers Heroes, a charity based in Weymouth that raises funds awareness of small local charities.

*BE Be-cider Seaside this weekend with a long weekend of camping, quality music, cider and food at Bredy Farm near Burton Bradstock.

There will be live music from 5pm today, Saturday and Sunday featuring Beans on Toast, Gaz Brookfield, Jake & the Jellyfish, Dubclass, Surfin' Birds, John D Revelator, Jawbone, The Jimmy Hillbillies, Pepper's Ghost, sinful Maggie, Daisy Wardle and more.

There are £5 day tickets available from Bridport Tourist Information Centre.

*ENJOY a glorious fete in the Piddle Valley.

Alton Pancras Village Fete will be held tomorrow at Barcombe Grange from 1pm to 4pm.

It will feature a BBQ and drinks from 1pm, Equinox performing, bubble football back by popular demand and many traditional children's games. There will also be a bric-a brac, a garden stall, bottle tombola and Wang a Welly. Entry is £1 for adults and children go free.
