With the year coming to an end this weekend, the last few days are set to be ‘unsettled,’ according to the Met Office.

Crowds will be out in the streets for the celebrations across West Dorset, with hundreds expected to be out in fancy dress in Bucky Doo Square in Bridport.

The Met Office predicts a deep area of low pressure moving in from the west at the start of the weekend, with outbreaks of rain pushing in which could turn heavier. Strong gusty winds and coastal gales are expected.

Going into New Year’s Eve the weather looks to be cloudy with some blustery showers across the South West. Rain is expected to fall around the county on midnight with a cloudier outlook in the New Year to be accompanied by rain and stronger winds from Tuesday, January 2.
