ANOTHER three points on Saturday would be the perfect tonic for Bridport ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Street, according to boss Trevor Senior.

Up to sixth in the Toolstation Western Premier Division after a 1-0 win over Buckland Ath-letic last time out, the Bees could potentially move into the top three this weekend.

They travel to Odd Down (Bath) for their final away fixture of 2014 (3pm), and Senior is keen for a second successive win before they round off the year at St Mary’s Field on December 26.

Bridport still have a number of the teams in the top half of the table to play, but as last Satur-day’s results showed, it is get-ting harder and harder to predict who will eventually come out on top.

“The two teams below us have got games in hand, but we are there or thereabouts,” said Senior.

“It’s going to be hard though as we’ve still got to play Melksham, Bitton, Slimbridge, Brislington and Willand.

“But Cadbury Heath and Hallen are both struggling near the bottom of the table and they beat teams at the top last Saturday.

“I’ve always said anyone can beat anyone in this league, and Odd Down only lost 1-0 to Slimbridge at the weekend.

“It would be nice to get something from Saturday because we could really go into the game against Street on Boxing Day in a good frame of mind.”

Chris Senior, who picked up a hamstring problem in the first half of the Buckland clash, is unavailable for the meeting with Odd Down due to work commitments, while Ryan Dovell remains on the sidelines.

The Bees beat Odd Down 2-0 in August with goals from Tom Richardson and Matt Morley.

It was Warren Byerley who grabbed the all-important winner against Buckland, the striker despatching a Jamie Symes cross with around 15 minutes left.

“I couldn’t fault anybody, they all played well,” added Senior. “It was a very good win. I was pleased with how we dug in and defended.”

Bees: Weeks, A Symes (Clarke 65), Morley (Condliffe 73), Evans, Senior, Hayter, Filkins, Wise, Richardson, Byerley, J Symes (Stewart 70)
