SEAN Stewart returns from suspension to bolster the Bridport midfield for tonight’s clash at Willand Rovers (7.45pm).

The hosts, who visit West Dorset next month for the third time this season when they contest the final of the Les Phillips Cup, have beaten the Bees twice already this term.

Rovers defeated Trevor Senior’s men 4-2 in the reverse league fixture between the sides last August, while they also came out on top at St Mary’s Field in the aforementioned cup competition in February.

Willand still have six games left in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division before they can think of lifting any silverware, though they could yet finish second in the table.

On the other hand, Bridport just have pride to play for now but assistant manager Mark Carter is hopeful the visitors can catch their hosts off guard this evening.

“They are one of the better sides in the league and have got several former Southern League players in their squad,” said Carter.

“They’ve just got through to a cup final and their spirits are going to be high, but hopefully they will be thinking about that and will be in the wrong frame of mind.”

A penalty shoot-out win last weekend sent Rovers through to the Les Phillips Cup final at St Mary’s Field on Sunday, May 10 when they will face Barnstaple Town.

Meanwhile, Dan Peart and Rhys Hayter are also set to be included in the Bridport squad tonight.
