THE Thursday competition was the Over-60s’ Pairs Championship.

This event is open to all male club members over 60 and includes players who are not members.

The winners by a clear two points were Bob Harding and Bryan Holmes with 48 points.

1 Bob Harding (16) & Bryan Holmes (20) – 48 points, 2 Keith Hicks (18) & Eric Hall (28) – 46, 3 Keith Brown (13) & Dave Rendell (19) – 45, 4 Martin Oliver (21) & Mick Kelson (24) – 44, 5 Jimmy Gbadebo (13) 7 Malcolm Noble (17) – 43.

Ladies’ Section

THE most exciting news this week is that our team played against Weymouth at Ashley Wood in the final of the county Parkin Cup, writes Di Neal.

Liz Thompson, Sue Kelson and Di Edwards, who have played in every round this year, did the club proud and received the runners-up cup.

This is a real achievement for the club as it’s been many years since our team did so well in this county competition.

Saturday and Tuesday saw members play either a EC Medal or the Andrews Cup.

Division One: 1 Di Harris (94-17=77), 2 Julie Oliver (92-14=78), 3 Nicky Stone (86-6=79).

Division Two: 1 Sally Woolmington (99-25=74), 2 Lynne Jessop (105-25=80), 3 Eleanor Butler (111-29=82).

Division Three: 1 Joan Brake (109-33=76), 2 Pat Baldwin (108-30=78), 3 Maureen Hicks (111-32=79).

The Andrews Cup: 1 Sandy Mogerl (29 points), 2 Carole Hedley (24pts), 3 Di Neal (23pts).

The Autumn Open was won by Sue Gibbons, who plays at Rushmore and Sheila Skea Strachan and Jenny Howlet from The Dorset Golf and County Club.

Runners-up were Jayne King (Dudsbury), Dilys Grant (Weymouth) and Sue Walsh (Bridport).

Sunday saw a mixed match played at Weymouth where Bridport lost 4 and 2.
