THREE junior members of Bridport Spirit Combat travelled to Guildford in Surrey for the Winter Spirit Combat International Advanced Gradings.
The grading team was headed by the founder of Spirit Combat, Soke Brian Dossett (10th Dan).
Dossett, who was recently inducted into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame, was assisted by Kancho Bill Cox (8th Dan).
After being put through their paces for three hours, George Beard was awarded his junior shodan black belt and Timothy Boulter and Connor Merson their junior shodan-ho black belts.
Club instructor Steve Reynolds, 4th degree black belt, said: “It was a good day, albeit a long one.
“The standards were very high and the three lads did themselves and their parents proud.”
The club meets on Tuesday for the junior class (six-14yrs) and Wednesday for adults.
Anyone interested in joining should contact Steve Reynolds on 01308 458488 or 07971183575.
