BRIDPORT and West Dorset Indoor Bowls Club were saddened to hear of the sudden death of one of its greatest servants in Terry Symes.

Although a useful club bowler he will always be remembered for coaching new bowlers and in particular for coaching the Acorn Group, which is for disabled bowlers.

From people who had strokes, to one member who bowled with his feet and one with 10 per cent sight, he would spend endless hours with great friend and fellow bowler Harry Black making these people’s lives worthwhile.

Club spokesman Brian Baker said: “If there is anyone of any form of disability what so ever, we have the facilities to enable you to bowl.

“Please contact me on Bridport (01308) 425247 as we intend to continue the amazing work Terry has done.”
