BOWLS Dorset hosted a team from Bowls England in a mixed match at Bridport Bowling Club.
Paul Tibble, Bridport men’s county president, welcomed Michael Jennings, president of Bowls England before the game.
The members of the Bowls England team were made up of players from 11 counties with players competing from as far as Leicestershire and Yorkshire.
Also playing for Bowls Dorset was Ann Allman, the ladies’ county president.
The game was enjoyed by all.
Bowls Dorset was beaten on five of the six rinks with the only victorious rink over Bowls England being the one containing the men’s and ladies’ presidents.
Games against Bowls England only come to the county on rare occasions.
It was a great honour for Bridport to be asked to host such a game which was organised by members of the host club.
