BEES’ boss Adam Fricker feels “comfortable” about his side’s pre-season after they continued with their tune-up against Tiverton Town Reserves last night.

It has been a mixed bag of results so far for the new boss, but he has been happy with the displays from his side – even if injuries to Ryan Hayter and Luke Woodland have caused some issues for the St Mary’s Field outfit.

Fricker said: “I think it’s all going really well so far.

“It’s been disappointing to pick a few injuries but hopefully those players will make quick returns before the start of the season.

“All in all the performances, the attitude of the players and their fitness has been really, really good.

“Over the next couple of weeks we can figure out our best team.

“We’re really comfortable with what we have got.”

Last weekend, Bridport’s Ed Butcher netted a brace for the hosts in Fricker’s first victory in charge of the hosts against Alphington.

There was also good news off the pitch for the Bees as they announced the signing of Sherborne Town pair Adam Barrett and Chris Hastings, who both got minutes in the 2-1 win.

Speaking about his new signings from Sherborne, Fricker remarked: “They’re both Western League players.

“Adam is excellent on the ball and he can give us that extra bit of quality.

“Chris is a strong centre-half and he can weigh in with a few goals.

“The squad is really taking shape.”
