CATTISTOCK & Symene’s three teams went winless on the final day of the Wessex Internet Dorset League season.

Charlie Durant took 3-18 and Jadan Gerety 1-6, while Wes Lewis (35) top-scored for the hosts from 27 balls having struck two fours and two maximums.

However, rain came and ensured no further play was possible.

The Foxes’ second team made only 42 for the second week running, losing by eight wickets at Bere Regis.

Tom Swain claimed a stunning 5-15 and Adam Raymond 3-13 as Bere made light work of the Foxes’ innings, David Hart top-scoring with a resilient 25.

Jake Hart (1-24) and Sam Hart (1-19) both took a wicket in defence of the low total but an unbeaten 14 from Callum Crompton helped Bere to a simple victory.

Reuben Kingston’s men consequently finish bottom of County Division Three and are subject to relegation, pending the reshuffle.

In Division Five, the Foxes’ third string lost by 109 runs at Wimborne Fourths.

Winning the toss and fielding first, the Foxes acquitted themselves well but Barnaby Overton’s 35 and meaty scores from Richard Preston (34) and Zach Overton (30) helped Wimborne to 202 all out.

Phill Hawkins (3-33) was the pick of the Foxes’ attack, while skipper Ollie James (2-12) also performed economically in his eight overs.

In defence of their score, Wimborne’s bowlers gave the visiting batters little respite as Lance Paget (2-16), Preston (2-18) and Zach Overton (2-20) returned excellent figures.

Nate Stantiford-Knight and Toby James both hit 16, while a generous 20 extras allowed Cattistock & Symene to reach 93 before they were dismissed.

James’ side finish bottom of the division by a single point behind Puddletown Seconds.
